2022 Julia Wenzel CD/PW

Julia builds completely in the traditional Spanish style and if anything, her sound and feel resemble the guitars from the Miguel Rodriguez shop, particularly from the 1960s. Like their instruments, this guitar is lightly built, has a fast, immediate attack and is followed by a lovely and full, harmonically rich quality of sound in every note. It has plenty of power for any concert situation and plays with ease, very responsive to the right-hand and a nice, smooth neck shape for the left hand. Materials are top-notch, and for this guitar she used some very interesting wood for the back and sides to complement the cedar top. It's from Venezuela, which they call "zapatero", but in English we refer to it as "Purpleheart" for it's reddish/purple color which is absolutely stunning. It is also fitted with premium-quality tuning machines by Klaus Scheller. Truly a great value for the price.
