Description

This is a lovely instrument by Tobias Braun. and as usual, he has used some spectacular materials including gorgeous German spruce which is covered in bearclaw and has irregular, yet tight and beautiful grain patters. This instrument is inspired by the great turn-of-the-century style as found in Manuel Ramirez (as most famously in the 1912 instrument of Andres Segovia), not just in the appearance, but structurally as well - it's lightly built, has a quick response and a loose, warm, romantic sound and at the same time, very clean and extremely loud, with a very robust, rounded, thick, yet clear quality of sound. Tobias also used a small tornavoz, about 16mm deep, to increase projection and clarity. Although a second-hand instrument, it has no structural damage or repairs, only some wear in the finish and the addition of tap plates which allow it to be used as a flamenco negra if so desired! All in all, a very unique and engaging instrument.
