Description

Robert Ruck is one of the most recognized names today in the USA and has had a very prolific career, having built over a thousand instruments to date. Perhaps the most famous of his output is the guitar owned by Manuel Barrueco which was used on nearly all of his classic recordings. This particular guitar is superb example of Ruck's best work from the 80's in all respects. It has very a firm, solid tone, which feels deeply anchored to the fundamental of each pitch while the hum of the higher partials adds a beautiful texture to the body of the sound. It has plenty of volume and could easily fill a large concert hall with minimal effort from the player. Condition-wise, Robert Ruck had the guitar in 2000 to do a few minor repairs, including a small crack on top bass-side at lower bout, fret and finish work. Luthier Richard Reynoso also just repaired a crack in the back. The guitar is fitted with Gilbert machines. Overall a fantastic example by one of the most established and respected US builders.
