This guitar was built in the famous Jose Ramirez workshop, which for over half a century has produced instruments performed on by countless professionals from Sting to Segovia, Chet Atkins to Sabicas and Lee Ritenour to Christopher Parkening.
The Ramirez 1a models come in a variety of "flavors" - this model, the "Especial" has all the standard features found in the regular 1a model but with one notable difference - it is built with solid rosewood sides (as opposed to having the cypress lining found in the "Traditional" models) which gives a the tone a bit more clarity and brightness, particularly with the sound coming out of the box. This will appeal to players especially looking for greater separation between voices but who still want the recognizable sound of Ramirez. This 1998 model is in great condition, with no damage or repairs, and only normal playing wear.
