2016 Paolo Coriani "1952 Hauser I/II" SP/CSAR

This guitar by Italian luthier Paolo Coriani is an exquisitely made instrument in the style of a late Hauser I from 1952 (completed by Hauser II after the passing of Hauser I) that Paolo had the opportunity to study in person many years ago. Although based on the dimensions and proportions of the original, Paolo has given this guitar his own aesthetic touches - rosette, headshape, etc. Paolo has successfully captured the essence of the late, "teutonic" style Hauser I guitars in many ways - firm and sturdy basses with crisp, clear and perfectly balanced trebles. Each note carries a very strong fundamental with virtually "invisible" overtones, resulting in extraordinary clarity between notes and a broad tonal palette. What is striking is just how much this guitar is different from his model styled on Manuel Ramirez, really showing how well Paolo understands these two very different builders. Playability is easy with a lovely, smooth neck. Materials are top-quality, and well-aged with a beautiful three-piece CSA rosewood back, and the fit and finish of the guitar are extremely well done - the French polish has an almost mirror-like quality to it. Although a used guitar, it is in excellent condition with only minor playing wear in the finish.
