This model is a custom instrument, built with lattice bracing under the top, and everything else done traditionally. The slightly more compact body size, inlay and decorative work is suggestive in particular of the work of Jose Romanillos, of whom Zalapa is very fond - especially in the rosette and purfling around the top of the guitar. Sound is huge, with a rich quality across all registers. Each note contains a harmonically rich collection of overtones, giving it a full-bodied, broad presence in any setting. Playability and setup are easy on the hands and players looking for a slightly smaller build will find this guitar especially comfortable. Also has a 20th fret for players needing that high c-natural. Apart from some very modest wear in the finish, the guitar is in great condition with no cracks or repairs. Overall a great guitar by any standard.
