Description

This is a great, full-size concert instrument built by the late North American master, Manuel Velazquez. His instruments from the early to mid-70's like this one have a slightly larger and more rounded plantilla, as well as a noticeably "big" sound - with additional power compared to the smaller-bodied and more Hauser-esque style of other periods. Of course the trademark Velazquez sound is still present - great clarity and separation between voices, perfect balance and a natural, beautiful, "woody" quality to the sound. Despite it's larger size, it still has a lightweight (yet sturdy) build, with a firm sound that is strongly reminiscent of the "teutonic" style as developed by Hermann Hauser I - sparkling trebles and steady basses are the standout tonal qualities. Playability is very easy thanks to the comfortable shape and contour of the neck. Condition is excellent – no cracks or repairs, only some very minor wear in the finish. Overall an extremely beautiful and collectible instrument by arguably the most important and legendary North American maker to date.
