2019 German Vazquez Rubio "Monarca Elite" CD/CSAR

Along with the "Custom Elite", this is the top-of-the-line "double-top" model from German Vazquez Rubio. It features his own soundboard design with a nomex interior, sandwiched between a spruce layer on the inside and a cedar layer on the exterior. Bracing is a traditional, symmetrical 5-fan system. German's goal with this is to offer a new design, but with a big traditional sound. Like the "Custom Elite" it is built with only his finest, most precious materials and shows off his most delicate, refined craftsmanship in the carving, inlay and finish work. Materials are all selected from his reserve stock, including the beautiful set of high-grade CSA rosewood for the back and sides. Neck is of Spanish cedar, and fingerboard is African ebony with hidden cocobolo reinforcement. Sound of this instrument is superb, with a rich, velvety texture to each note. It is also extremely responsive and loose, with plenty of volume for any concert setting. It is also fitted with a 20th fret for repertoire requiring a high c natural.
