2019 Carlos Juan Busquiel SP/BO

This is a beautifully made guitar and features very exotic materials - "Bocote" wood for the back and sides, which as you cab see from the photos, is absolutely gorgeous with unique patterning and coloration in the grain. Bocote is a species of Cordia found most-typically in Central and South America and related to Ziricote (Cordia dodecandra), which is typically found in Mexico and Central and South America. It also happens to be a fantastic tone wood as this guitar attests - the sound is just as solid as the build - it has a very compelling firmness in each note - the trebles are thick and weighty, as are the basses. Its fullness of sound still leaves ample room for a crystalline clarity across all registers. This is an instrument which lends itself beautifully to virtually any style of music from the Renaissance to the present. Lightly braced with only 5 fans and thin bridge plate, it also has ample volume for the player seeking added power combined with a lush, traditional sound.
