2016 Dake Traphagen w/pegs CD/CSAR

This is a beautiful and meticulously-made guitar from one of America's most well-known luthiers, Dake Traphagen. It features top quality materials and stylish marquetry, giving it a very elegant appearance. Slightly more compact in size, the guitar features doubled sides (cypress on the interior) and "machined" peghead for an old-school look but with quick and easy tuning. It has a smooth, round and balanced tone, with quick response similar to the instruments of Miguel Rodriguez (of whom Dake is very fond). It is a fun guitar to play, and has great power for any concert situation. It has great punch with a beautiful richness of overtones that yet retains great clarity and separation between voices. Playability and setup are very comfortable and the guitar is in excellent condition with only modest wear in the finish. Top is French-polished for tonal considerations and the back and sides are lacquered for extra durability - perfect combination of finishes for the active guitarist who needs a sturdy, working concert-level instrument.
