Description

This guitar was built in the famous Jose Ramirez workshop, which for over half a century has produced instruments performed on by countless professionals from Sting to Segovia, Chet Atkins to Sabicas and Lee Ritenour to Christopher Parkening.

Possibly one of the most played and known of any Spanish made guitar in history, the Ramirez 1a model continues to satisfy players as a truly outstanding performance instrument by any standard. This guitar has all the color and warmth normally associated with a great Ramirez, and this example from 2007 has playability more like the instruments they produced in the 1950s with easy neck angle and standard string length of 650 mm. For attention to detail, quality of construction and sound, we rate this instrument very highly. This guitar is in excellent condition with virtually no signs of prior use other than some very minor wear in the finish. Easy to play with that immediately identifiable, classic sound that only comes from a great Ramirez concert guitar. For attention to detail, quality of construction and sound, this is a first-class instrument.

For more information on Ramirez, be sure to read The Ramirez Family: Masters of the Guitar, or for information on the Ramirez family members, from Amalia Ramirez back to Jose I and for some interesting fact-checking on myths and facts about this legendary workshop.
