An absolutely stunning guitar by one of Italy's most interesting guitar makers. The guitar is heavier than most due to having extra-thick back and sides. This forces the top to do all the vibrating, making this guitar project extremely well while retaining all the clarity of the note. This instrument is extremely well-suited to ensemble work (with percussion ensemble, orchestra, piano, etc.). This 2011 model was part of a limited run of instrument built especially for members of the "Guitart Quartet" in Italy, this particular guitar originally built for Gianvito Pulzone. These guitars were used extensively on their "Gismontiana" album released on the GHA label. Features of this model include Humphrey-style elevated fingerboard, 20th fret and unique "tie block-free" bridge system which increases the break angle behind the playing area of the saddle, allowing for lower action and increased torque, which produces a big, full sound. Materials selected for this guitar are striking including a very dark and striped cedar soundboard, with beautiful, straight-grained, flatsawn CSA rosewood for the back and sides, with a thin sapwood strip at the back center seam. Giussani's classic appointments are present - including his well-known and very simple headstock, signature rosette and purfling, which allows for the dramatic natural elements to stand out. Condition is excellent with no damage, only very modest signs of prior use.
