Description

This is a fine example of a classic Greg Smallman, very similar to the one John Williams used for many of his post-1980 recordings. These instruments are known for their great power and piano-like sustain. The heavily domed and very thick back gives the guitar a very rigid and stiff outer shell, forcing all the vibration to the soundboard, which is thinly built and reinforced internally with a unique lattice system. Smallman’s instruments have been played for years most famously by John Williams, but also by several other concert artists, including Xufei Yang, Ben Verdery, Carlos Bonnell and others. This guitar is in excellent condition with no damage or repairs, only some signs of minor playing wear. It was previously owned by the great Brazilian guitarist, Marcelo Kayath. Included is the original wooden hardshell case.
