1979 Paul Fischer Spruce Brazilian rosewood

Guitar maker Paul Fischer concert guitar. The guitar had been commissioned and was briefly owned by Mozarteum professor Matthias Seidel, and sold to me in 1980 or 1981. There are a few superficial scratches underneath the soundhole that were there when I acquired the instrument from him. There are two small cracks on one of the sides. Years ago, upon contacting him, Fischer assured me that they will likely be stable, and they have been. Still, when I had Garrett Lee in NJ restore the neck (in 2015). He also added a small piece of bone in front of the nut at the third string because the string's intonation when played open was out of tune (flat relative to all fretted notes). In his final report of the restoration, Gary characterized the instrument as a "grand, mature guitar." The guitar was also expertly repaired in 2018 by Matt Rubendall, when a clean separation of the two halves of the top occurred underneath the bridge as a consequence of dryness. There are no visible signs of that repair. Matt also installed new Sloane tuners which actually benefited the sustain and balance between trebles and bass strings.
