Brazilian Guitar Master, GUINGA, Will Perform In Los Angeles On August 31st!
Vera's Heartbeat Music has shared some information with us regarding the upcoming concert of Brazilian guitar virtuoso, Guinga who will perform in LA this year at the 220 Arts Theatre. Great sound, cool patio, and seating venue! During the concert, Guinga will perform compositions known from his 50+ year career including “Senhorinha” and “Choro pro Ze,” and will play songs from his latest album Zaboio, which Guinga calls “a faithful portrait of my soul.” Guinga, whose real name is Carlos Althier de Souza Lemos Escobar, is one of Brazil’s most famous composers these days. His deep and sophisticated songs connect his love of jazz and classical to Brazilian forms including samba, frevo, modinha, bossa nova, and rural baião, creating revelatory harmonies and rhythms.
