Billy Arcila - Simbelmyne
Here’s our friend Billy Arcila playing a new composition of his, Simbelmynë, on guitars by Masaru Kohno, Robert Bouchet and Hopf/Adalid (their very interesting ‘Artista Membrane’ design).
The title of the piece comes from the Lord of the Rings triolgy:
“How fair are the bright eyes in the grass!
Evermind they are called, simbelmynë in this land of Men,
for they blossom in all the seasons of the year.”
Gandalf
The Two Towers
Huge thanks to our friends at AEA (www.ribbonmics.com) for letting us use their amazing 44ce and N22 microphones for these recordings, and also to the folks at Apogee (ApogeeDigital.com) for the use of their fantastic Ensemble interface.
