On Location with D’Addario: Featuring Elias Bonet and Andrea Roberto

On location in Europe with D’Addario

We recently released three videos in collaboration with D'Addario where we released two performances by Andrea Roberto on a brand new Elias Bonet guitar (coming soon to GSI), as well as an interview with Bonet himself! This was recorded in an 11th century location in Spain, Claustre del Monestir de Santa Maria de l'Estany (Moianès), Cataluña.The videography and audio was done by Ali Arango.

Italian guitarist, Andrea Roberto, gained international recognition in 2019 by winning the prestigious Parkening International Guitar Competition, a milestone that solidified his place in the classical guitar world. Andrea began his studies at the Giordano Conservatory at the age of 14, later continuing his education at the Maastricht Conservatory under Maestro Carlo Marchione, where his exceptional talent began to shine. Since then, Andrea's skill and artistry have taken him to stages worldwide. In 2017, he released his debut recording, El Viaje de la Guitarra Italiana, with JSG Records, earning widespread praise from critics. Here he plays Federico Bufaletti's "Mazurka" and Mauro Giuliani's "Rossiniana No. 5" on a 2025 Elias Bonet classical guitar made with cedar top and green ebony back and sides.

In addition, luthier Elias Bonet sat down for an interview where he details how he got into the profession as well as his brand new guitar. Check out the interview to learn more about this fantastic instrument. We are excited to have it in our shop, keep an eye out for when we have it available for sale on our website.
