Player Spotlight: Klaudyna Żołnierek
Klaudyna Żołnierek is a Polish musician specializing in historical plucked string instruments, notably the theorbo and lute. She is active in the early music scene, performing both as a soloist and in various ensembles. She recently released a beautiful performance of "Sarabande in G minor" by Baroque composer Robert de Visée, interpreted on the theorbo. The piece is sourced from the Vaudry de Saizenay Manuscript. The audio was engineered by Kamil Kęska, and the video was directed by Jacek Owczarz. This performance showcases the rich, resonant tones of the theorbo, bringing to life the intricate melodies characteristic of de Visée's compositions.
On the note of historical plucked instruments, GSI has sold a couple lutes in the past. This includes a 1989 Eric Sahlin 8-Course Lute and a 1966 "Jose" David Rubio 9-course lute SP/MP.
