Just Arrived: A New Guitar by Bertrand Ligier

A brand-new guitar from French luthier Bertrand Ligier has just arrived at GSI and will be listed on our website very soon.

Bertrand builds his instruments in the Languedoc region of Southern France and is widely admired for his refined craftsmanship and dedication to continuous improvement. His guitars embody the French tradition—elegant, understated, and acoustically rich.

This latest instrument, Ligier's guitar no. 111, features high-quality materials: a spruce top paired with African rosewood back and sides. For this build, Bertrand introduced a structural change—he built the interior linings using Mahogany, “in Friederich’s spirit,” as he describes it, marking a subtle but meaningful shift in his construction approach.
